Private Lessons
Private lessons at iPickle Cerritos are from our iPickle certified professionals
Our professional staff is available to do private or semi-private (two person) lessons according to court and instructor availability. All lessons are given by high quality, iPickle professionals. Lessons may be purchased individually, hour or 1.5 hour basis.
Private Lesson Policies
- All lessons must be paid for in advance (scheduled and paid through the pickleball professional)
- Lesson cancellations less than 24 hours before scheduled lesson time are subject to a cancellation fee of $30.00
- No shows are subject to a full lesson charge

Courteney Nojiri – Director
Courteney Nojiri is a iPickle Professional, certified by the International Foundation of Players Academy (IFPA). She is passionate and an experienced instructor with a strong dedication to growing the sport and helping players of all ages reach their full potential. With 4 years of teaching experience, Courteney has become particularly popular for working with kids, making learning both fun and effective. Certified by the International Foundation of Players Academy, Courteney brings a wealth of technical expertise and knowledge to the court. Known for a friendly and engaging teaching style, Courteney ensures each lesson is both informative and exciting, with a focus on building confidence and improving skills. Whether working with beginners, intermediate players, or young athletes, Courteney tailors each session to meet the unique needs of each player, helping them develop their game in a supportive and motivating environment. As an active player and competitor, Courteney continues to refine her own skills while staying up to date with the latest trends and strategies in pickleball. She strives in creating dynamic and engaging lessons for players of all skill levels.
Derek Chen – Certified iPickle Professional
Derek Chen is a professional iPickle pickleball instructor and a former Division 1 tennis player. His experience in both tennis and pickleball gives him a unique edge on the court, allowing him to instruct proper technique while implementing power, precision, and strategy. He has been coaching for four years and has had experience playing in professional pickleball tournaments. Known for his patience and enthusiasm, Derek is great with kids and enjoys coaching young athletes, helping them develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment. His ability to break down complex techniques makes him a favorite among students of all levels.

Matt Wong – Staff Professional
Matt Wong is iPickle Cerritos’ newest professional pickleball instructor, bringing a strong blend of athletic performance and teaching expertise. With several years of experience teaching elementary school physical education, Matt has a proven ability to connect with players of all ages and skill levels.
He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Kinesiology and has competed at the 5.0 level for multiple years. His competitive resume includes several top-three finishes in local tournaments across both men’s and mixed doubles.
Matt’s passion for fitness, health, and education is reflected in every lesson, making him a dedicated and effective coach committed to helping players reach their full potential on the court.
